Movie Review #17 - War for the Planet of the Apes (2017)

A Movie Review by Carter Rutledge for: Movie Synopsis: Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both of their species and the future of the planet. MPAA Rating:  PG-13 The Good: Literally everything. The Bad:  Some story conveniences. Why I Watched it: Because Rise got me attached and Dawn blew me away. My Thoughts (no penny needed): This is an amazing movie. Last year, I would have told you Planet of the Apes is the dumbest thing ever (right next to Ninja Turtles). Movie Review #16 - Saving Private Ryan (1998)

A Movie Review by Carter Rutledge for: Movie Synopsis: Captain John Miller takes his men behind enemy lines to find Private James Ryan, whose three brothers have been killed in combat. Surrounded by the brutal realties of war, while searching for Ryan, each man embarks upon a personal journey and discovers their own strength to triumph over an uncertain future with honor, decency and courage. MPAA Rating:  R The Good: Amazing story, acting, and editing. The Bad:  Quite a bit of language, and the amount of violence is not for everyone. Why I Watched it: I have a watchlist of R rated movies, and this one has been at the top for some time now. My Thoughts (no penny needed): I'm not a huge fan of Steven Spielberg, but this film really shines. Literally almost everything is perfection in this film. The acting is amazing, the cinematography is spot-on, and the editing was amazing.  John Williams really let me down here, compared to everything else he has ...
